Over the past
twenty years, artist Daryl Kalmus has produced sculpture and furniture
that graces the interiors of corporate headquarters, cultural
and educational institutions, as well as private offices and residences.
Working in wood and paint, Kalmus's vocabulary of shapes and limited
color pallet of black and iron oxide red, combine to render pieces
which he assigns the genre, "objects of future reference". The
Kalmus "objects" range from simple single shapes to complex assemblages.
Daryl's works,
although hinting of the influences from Louise Nevelson and Frank
Stella which he acknowledges, are executed in a style that is
truely his own.
Several
of the featured pieces are available for acquisition and inquiries
regarding commissioned work are always welcome.
